merupakan software yang berfungsi untuk menjaga komputer Anda tetap dalam
kondisi awal. Apa pun perubahan yang terjadi setelah komputer “dibekukan” oleh
Deep Freeze, perubahan tersebut akan hilang setelah komputer direboot.
Misalnyanya,
komputer Anda terserang virus atau terjadi perubahan konfigurasi yang tidak
diinginkan atau bahkan error. Karena Anda sudah menginstall Deep Freeze, maka
ketika direboot, komputer akan kembali ke kondisi semula seperti sebelum
terkena virus atau error. Apapun perubahan yang terjadi (termasuk masuknya
virus) pada saat komputer dalam kondisi “beku”, perubahan tersebut akan hilang
setelah komputer direboot. Komputer akan kembali ke kondisi semula

Dalam hal ini Deep Freeze akan sangat membantu.
Kekurangan Deep Freeze
Jika Anda lupa password,
komputer akan terus dalam keadaan frozen. Perubahan apapun yang Anda
lakukan (install software, update antivirus, dll) akan hilang saat
restart. Satu-satunya solusi jika lupa password adalah install ulang
komputer.
Jika Anda secara tidak sengaja
menyimpan dokumen di drive yang
dilindungi Deep Freeze, dokumen tersebut akan hilang saat komputer direboot.
Untuk pengguna komputer desktop
tanpa UPS, jika listrik tiba-tiba mati, dokumen yang belum tersimpan akan
hilang. Deep Freeze mencegah fungsi recovery file saving.
Untuk menginstall aplikasi baru atau update antivirus,

Download
installernya di website
resmi Faronics (trial
version) atau di sini (+serial number).
Jika Anda
mendownload dari sumber kedua, ekstrak dengan Winrar atau aplikasi kompresi
lainnya.
Double klik
“DFStd.exe”. Pada layar pertama, klik “Next”. Berikutnya akan ada jendela
“End-User License Agreement”. Klik “I accept….”, lalu klik “Next”. Berikutnya
isikan serial numbernya. Jangan centang “Use Evaluation”.
Pada
tampilan berikutnya, pilih drive yang akan Anda proteksi dengan Deep Freeze.
Saran saya, hanya pilih drive C karena drive C lah yang merupakan “jantung”
komputer Anda, tempat di mana OS berada. Jika Anda juga memilih drive lainnya,
Anda harus menonaktifkan Deep Freeze tiap kali Anda menyimpan file di drive
tersebut. Terlalu repot.
Setelah
memilih drive yang ingin diproteksi, klik “Next”. Berikutnya klik “Install”.
Tunggu proses installasi selesai.
Cara Menggunakan Deep Freeze
Cara
menggunakan Deep Freeze sendiri tergolong mudah. Untuk mengatur kapan komputer
dalam keadaan frozen (Deep Freeze aktif) atau thawed (Deep Freeze
tidak aktif), cukup akses jendela konfigurasi Deep Freeze. Caranya, tekan
tombol Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F6 atau tahan tombol Shift dan klik 2 kali ikon Deep
Freeze pada tray
icon.
Pada jendela
konfigurasi Deep Freeze, pilih “Boot Thawed” dan klik “Apply and Reboot”. Deep
Freeze akan dinonaktifkan. Untuk mengaktifkannya kembali, pilih “Boot Frozen”.

Cara Uninstall Deep Freeze
Deep Freeze
tidak dapat diuninstall dengan cara biasa. Untuk proses uninstall, jalankan installernya (DFStd.exe),
dan pilih “Uninstall”.
Kesimpulan
Menurut
saya, Deep Freeze cukup ampuh untuk melindungi komputer. Namun demikian, ketika
Anda menonaktifkannya, komputer tetap berisiko terkena virus. Apalagi jika Anda
hanya mengandalkan Deep Freeze, tanpa antivirus. Jika komputer hanya Anda
gunakan sendiri (misal: laptop pribadi), Deep Freeze tidak terlalu diperlukan.
Lain halnya
jika komputer Anda digunakan oleh beberapa orang, entah itu komputer dalam
jaringan seperti contoh di atas, atau komputer rumah yang digunakan oleh
seluruh anggota keluarga. Pada kondisi ini, Deep Freeze akan melindungi
komputer dari tangan jahil atau perubahan yang tidak disengaja.

How to Install Deep Freeze
Download the installer on the official website Faronics (trial version) or here (+ serial number).

In my opinion, Deep Freeze powerful enough to protect the computer. However, when you disable it, the computer remains at risk for the virus. Especially if you just rely on Deep Freeze, without antivirus. If you only use your own computer (eg personal laptop), Deep Freeze is not really necessary.
